Our mission on Old Age is to promote the well-being and inclusion of older women and men and reduce poverty and discrimination in later life.

Our Vision in old age is a world in which all old people can lead to dignified healthy and secure lives.

We all want to live in a society where we treat each other with fairness and respect, and where we can make decisions about our lives, and matter our age. Human rights make sure this vision is embedded in the systems within our societies and in our behaviour.

CHARD’s role in protection of the Vulnerable Groups;

We work hard to stop specific abuses, provide aid, advocate for changes to the legislation, contribute to its development and spread information

  • Emphasize the importance of providing financial and technical support to local women’s civil society groups providing humanitarian assistance to civilians to ensure access to local communities in need.
  • Urge members of states and the UN system, including peace operators, to actively support women’s participation and leadership in pandemic decision-making and response planning and ensure there are consistent, regular and ongoing consultations with civil organisations and resources for frontline women’s civil society organisations.
  • Urge members of states and the UN system to prioritise the full range of medical, legal, psychosocial and livelihood services to women affected by armed conflict and post-conflict situations, including essential sexual and reproductive health services.
  • Demand cessation of attacks against civilians, healthcare workers and humanitarian law actors, which violate international humanitarian, criminal and human rights law and Security Council resolutions
  • CHARD urges the members of the state and the UN system including the peace operators, to actively support women’s participation and leadership in pandemic decision-making and response planning and ensure there are consistent, regular and ongoing consultations with civil society, including women-led organisations, and resourcing for frontline women’s civil society organisations.
